Whitehall 22nd: May 1817.

Sir

A Person well acquainted with the Designs of the disaffected, at [left blank] and other Places in the Midland and Northern Counties, will leave London Tomorrow Evening, and will visit [left blank] previous to his Return.—It is possible that he may obtain some Information while at that Place, the early Communication of which to a magistrate on the Spot may be of material importance.

He will accordingly be entrusted with this Letter which he will make use of as his Introduction to you, in case such a Communication should become necessary during his Stay at [left blank]

He is an intelligent man, and deserving of your Confidence.—
