Wakefield Monday 5 May 1817.
Honoured Sir
I Hasten to inform you that M left me yesterday in the neighbrood of Huddersfield to call and Stop last night with a friend of his Soon after he left me I now find he was taken into Custody by some persons who recognize him—the meeting took place this morning according to appointment the particuler I Shall particulerize and which is of importance to the State—I am tomorrow to be introduced to some of the Heads in consiquence of M Absence which I regret very much for thro him this day I Should be able to get all the particulers, his absence caused some Coolness but I think I Shall yet Obtain the principal Importance in haste I remain
